FSA Results are in!
Nelson Christian Community School is a small school with big results! Recently an article was published on KootenayBiz blog ranking Kootenay schools based on their FSA results. Independent schools across the region came out on top! CHEK ABC is listed as the number 6 school on the list! As a reminder, the FSA (Foundation Skills Assessment) is BC's achievement test for students in Grades 4 and 7. Students all across the province participate in this test in order to gauge student learning and get a snapshot of school's academic progress.
You may be wondering why I'm writing a blog post about FSA testing results for CHEK ABC. "That's not us!" you may be saying. It is, indirectly! The results are representative of NCCS in that all CHEK and NCCS FSA tests were marked in the same batch and school scores were parallel. If NCCS had more students enrolled, I feel confident that our name would be at the top of that list too.
Why am I sharing this with you? Well, because I'm excited for one thing! It is the first time that an NCSS school has made the list. But more importantly than getting published on a list, it indicates the academic excellence we are striving for. This year, more than ever before, I feel like we are heading in the best direction. Across the board we are teaching more in depth, seeing student success, and engaging students in all aspects of learning.
It feels good to see positive results from all of our (a collective "our"--parents, students, teachers, and support staff) hard work. I am so thankful that our school is continuing to grow and improve!
